Workshop for disseminating the collection results of the ICARS project
The workshop made it possible to present and discuss the results obtained during the
field work. These are specifically “Knowledge,
Attitudes and Practices of poultry stakeholders on AMR”; “Feasibility
technical, economic, logistical and administrative and the criteria for implementation
implementation of a microbiological certification system (MicS) for chicks
day old and hatching eggs imported into Benin. It was subsequently detained
that attention be paid to existing laboratories for implementation
lasting work of the platform without forgetting the sovereign role of the State.
Preparatory workshop for the DELPHI workshop on phytomedicine and phytopharmacy in Benin
The organization of this workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the DELPHI approach, analyze the strengths and shortcomings of university training programs in phytomedicine and phytopharmacy, collect the opinions of graduates on their educational experiences, and synthesize the

DELPHI workshop on phytomedicine and phytopharmacy in Benin
As part of the MINNAGAN project, co-financed by Erasmus+,
URMAPha organized a DELPHI workshop on phytomedicine and
phytopharmacy. For 5 days, university experts
collaborated to analyze current programs, identify gaps and design modules adapted to the training of future
specialists in herbal remedies.
Workshop for writing a policy brief
On November 25, 2024, URMAPha hosted a writing workshop for
three-day policy at the University of Abomey-Calavi, bringing together 31
participants, including midwives, biologists and representatives of the Ministry of
Health. Organized as part of a project funded by PSR Finland, the workshop
aimed to develop a policy document and make recommendations
to strengthen hygiene and maternal and neonatal health. Thanks to
strong partnerships, significant progress has been made to improve
maternal and neonatal health in Benin.
Co-construction workshop with the stakeholders of the VALUCHAM project
This workshop aimed to actively involve all stakeholders in the
project (representatives of decision-makers, traditional medicine practitioners,
actors of conventional medicine, and civil society) in the development
of an interaction charter as a basis for the integrated approach, and in the definition
strategies for dissemination and restitution of project results. During this
workshop, the terms of reference of the ethnopharmacological survey were also
been validated
Workshop Dissemination of the results of the ICARS project
This workshop was dedicated to disseminating the results of the ICARS project and to
the identification of legislative and procedural needs to establish a platform of
microbiological certification (MIC). Funded by the International Center for
antimicrobial resistance solutions (ICARS), this project aims to reduce
the importation of antimicrobial resistance through day-old chicks and
hatching eggs imported into Benin. This workshop marks a crucial step in the
fight against antimicrobial resistance in the country's poultry sector.
Women in WASH Week: Leadership and Women’s Actions
Miss Genia Alida Oussou actively participated in Women in WASH Week which brought together 20 young women from the WASH sector. This training addressed the actions of the Conference of the Parties (COP28), the role of women in the sector and leadership sessions.
ERASMUS mobility stay
Two members of the team (Jules Houngbenou and Hornella Amoussou) completed a five-month internship in the Microbiology laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry of the University of Helsinki as part of the Master's degree in Molecular and Medical Microbiology
