The SEARCE-B Project focuses on studying the spread and evolution of antimicrobial resistance
in communities and the environment in Benin.

1. Context

The SEARCE-B Project focuses on studying the spread and evolution of antimicrobial resistance
in communities and the environment in Benin. The study aims to
collect and analyze data on antimicrobial resistance
in humans and the environment in an integrated manner to gain a better
understanding of how the phenomenon spreads, with a view to transforming
the way it is studied. The activity consisted of collecting and culturing samples
from the environment within several previously identified index families.

2. Objectives

General Objective

Understanding the development and spread of antimicrobial resistance within and between communities.

Specific Objectives

  • - Collect and analyze samples of human, animal, and environmental origin. - Explain the flow of resistance genes in the environment.

3. Résultats Essentiels

  • Isolation and identification of pathogens in samples of human, animal, and environmental origin.

4. Livrables

  • Phase of dissemination and presentation of the study results to the Grand-Popo Town Hall.
