The
MIMIN project promotes hygiene among healthcare professionals and communities by
modernizing the training of healthcare professionals, offering continuing education
in higher education institutions, and encouraging local solutions
to improve hygiene practices.
Poor hygiene in healthcare facilities contributes to maternal and neonatal infections,
which are the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in Benin.
Failure by healthcare workers to follow good hygiene practices promotes the
spread of multidrug-resistant bacteria in hospitals, causing infections. The
Mimin project promotes hygiene among healthcare professionals and communities by
modernizing the training of healthcare professionals, offering continuing education
in higher education institutions, and encouraging local solutions
to improve hygiene practices. Skills are shared among
partner universities to strengthen the teaching capacities of teachers and
trainers.
